The website for the UPPD advertises 24 hour patrols. This is an outright lie. They say the do foot patrols and bicycle patrols as well. In nearly 25 years I have never once seen a policeman on foot or on a bike. They say they conduct constant traffic surveillance. That is true if you consider leaving an empty squad car at random places in the neighborhood for days on end traffic surveillance. My friends truck was victim to a hit and run RIGHT IN FRONT OF ONE OF THESE PATROL CARS and it had no dash cam so the perpetrator went unpunished! The ONLY thing I have ever seen the esteemed officers of the UPPD do is sit at the counter at Plato's diner and hassle my non-white friends. Even the county police think these guys are a total joke. This police department is a waste of resources and should be shut down at the earliest possible convenience.
what kind of police department works for approximately four hours on a tuesday ONLY?!?! they NEVER answer their phones! thats just wrong.
